status quo

Just when Status Quo fans thought that 2013 couldn't be any more of a rollercoaster ride...

...after a series of sold out UK gigs in March featuring the classic line up of John Coghlan on drums and bass player Alan Lancaster alongside Quo stalwarts Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt and then the subsequent announcement of the upcoming 'Bula Quo' feature film which caused so much uproar amongst the band's loyal fans, all is not lost as it seems that the Frantic Four may tour once again in 2014.

According to an interview with Rick Parfitt posted on the Dutch HetStreetBlad website, he seems to acknowledge the fact that the 'Frantic Four' will tour again in 2014, by being quoted as saying: "Next year (2014) we will probably do a 'Frantic Four' tour again. If it were up to me we do not play only in England, but also do a number of places in the rest of Europe. The Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam would be nice. I always am looking forward to playing there."

Although the band have yet to officially acknowledge these comments, the fans who witnessed the live shows in Scotland and England earlier in the year are understandably excited at the prospect of new dates are the previous batch of live dates sold out in record time, with fans travelling from all over the world to see what they believed to be a one-off batch of gigs.

The 'Bula Quo' film which caused so much anger from the fans, and in turn caused the band to close the official website message board (reported by MetalTalk here) is due for release in July 2013 and will be followed by the 'Bula Quo' World Tour with the current Quo members of Andrew Bown on Keyboards, John 'Rhino' Edwards on bass guitar and the newly recruited drummer Leon Cave.

Here's a fabulous Aerosmith pictorial document as seen through the lens of famed British photographer Tony Mottram. Tony photographed the band over many years for various magazines and now has a monthly column here on MetalTalk.

As was often the case, only one photo ever got published and in the fast moving world of weekly magazines sometimes entire sessions would be done and left undeveloped.

Tony started shooting Aerosmith from towards the end of the period with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay and onwards through the return of original members Joe Perry and Brad Whitford that resulted in the albums 'Done With Mirrors', 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump'.

As well as shooting the band several times in England, this collection includes images from a session at the band's rehearsal room in Boston. Littered throughout is a mixture of live and off stage photos including a selection of photos taken at London's famous Marquee club when they were joined on stage by Jimmy Page.

This limited edition hardback book, presented in a flight case and printed on silk paper, is an opportunity to own a unique selection of photos, most of which have never seen the light of day before.
