les fest

So it has come to pass that after a great deal of work behind the scenes we get to announcement number two. Please remember that next year at Les-Fest 2, Scotland's only and award winning Rock and Metal Festival we will have 44 bands on the Main Stage. So this announcement will take us to 26.

So first up we are delighted to confirm our Friday night headline act as Yorkshire based Thrash Metallers – Evile. Securing bands of this stature helps to cement our position and make Les-Fest 2 a 'must do' festival for 2013. But that is not all, to continue in our Friday night is Thrash Night theme we are also really stoked to tell you that as main support to Evile we have secured the services of legendary UK thrash act and one of the founding fathers of the genre Virus.

It is a great privilege, for us to introduce both of these bands as part of the second announcement for Les-Fest 2, to be held within the Valley International Park, Crossford, Lanarkshire on the 28th to 30th June and Friday night is going to be a legendary one for Scottish thrash fans. They will be joined on the Friday night by Dundee, Metalcore merchants Excellent Cadaver, really reinforcing Friday night as truly brutal affair.

Next up and playing on the Saturday night we will have the band Monument – fronted by and new project of, Pete Ellis –ex vocalist of LA metallers White Wizzard. This is another great coup for Les-Fest as these guys will be doing all the major UK and European festivals in 2013. They are joined on the bill by recently Metal Hammer featured Karybdis, Leading UK metal into inspiring and uncharted territory, pushing boundaries and pursuing a brave and noble path into the unknown” Dom Lawson? We could not say it any better ourselves.

Much closer to home and not losing the fact that Les-Fest is all about showcasing new, upcoming Scottish talent we are also pleased to confirm, the Edinburgh based, award winning and Kerrang acclaimed –PEEPSHOW. Having recently picked up the Best Loud Metal Recording of the year award at the SNMA and winning a slot at Download 2013 this is another excellent addition to our line up. Continuing our Scottish theme they will be joined by West of Scotland Heavy Groove Metallers – MAIR. Be warned these guys and girl, will take over the building.

We appreciate that it cannot be all about tear your face of metal and this is a Rock and Metal Festival, so to that end as part of this announcement we can also bring you central belt based, female fronted rock act Altered Sky, these guys and girls have built up a seriously good live reputation and we are really happy to have secured their services.

Next up we travel across the water in our never ending quest to find you the best new music and bring you Belfast based Metal Thrashers Sinocence to quote "I think this latest opus from Northern Ireland's Sinocence is just one step short of genius! And that is genuinely a word I do not use easily" Planet Mosh, sweet.

They will be joined on this one by another recently Metal Hammer featured band, 3 piece, Classic British Rock act Skam# (you know we love our 3 piece bands!) and Berkshire based Heavy Metal band Primitai another cracking live band. To conclude this most recent announcement and there will be more to follow, we are happy to confirm that we are bringing back another band from last year.

After just securing a spot at this years Hard Rock Hell we are delighted to announce the return of fast rising British Rockers Massive Wagons, these guys just get better and better. Finally to conclude this one the last 2 bands we have so far are the Aberdeen based Metal band Bisongrass and after last years success with Estrella it is cool to get another band from the North East and the Lanarkshire based Alt/Rock band and damn fine live act Urban Myth.

So with the previous announcement now long since past the current confirmed line up to date is: Achren, Afterlife, Altered Sky, Artisfiction, Bisongrass, Bull-Riff Stampede, Derision, Estrella, Evile, Excellent Cadaver, Firebrand Super Rock, Furyon, Karybdis, MadHatter 2.0, MAIR, Massive Wagons, Monument, PEEPSHOW, Primitai, Sarah Jezebel Deva, Severenth, Sinocence, Skam, Slam Cartel, Urban Myth, Virus.

So there you have it, that is now 26 bands confirmed for 2013.
