On 16 July 2012 the music world lost one of its greatest. Jon Lord has succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 71.

Co-founder of Deep Purple, Jon will be forever remembered for his amazing musical achievements. His love affair with music started very early. Although having classical piano training, Jon was quickly seduced by the music of Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Smith. Instead of taking up an acting carrier after receiving drama school scholarship, Jon opted for gigging in pubs, including a short-lived outfit with Ronnie Wood, future Rolling Stones star.

True to that tradition, Live4guitar has organised a remembrance gig, where a host of musicians will rotate on stage for the evening performing many great songs that Jon graced us with.

Guest performers on 30th August will include:

George GT Stergiou
Olivia Airey
Keith Airey
Daniele Panza
Emir Hot
Mark Cross
Hannibal
Alan Nelson
Danny Mattin
Hugo Terva
Arnaldo Rogano
Luka Twitch Ravase
Davey Rimmer
John Wheatcroft

If you happen to be in London on the night, please come along as it's going to be great. Entrance: £5 at the door.
