COREY TAYLOR DISCUSSES UPCOMING SLIPKNOT AND STONE SOUR ALBUMS
5th July 2012

Slipknot are currently headlining the Mayhem Festival, without Jim Root who is ill with a burst appendix. This is the band's first U.S. shows since the tragic 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray.
Ahead of the tour, frontman Corey Taylor spoke with the Phoenix New Times about a number of topics, including upcoming albums from Slipknot and Stone Sour.

"The band took a pretty big hit with the loss of Paul and we're just doing what we can to carry on in his memory," explains Taylor. "And part of that is coming back together as a band. The more tours that we do the more we try to make sense of it all. We're just taking baby steps and trying to do it right. Not rush into anything, and just get to a point where we're ready to make music without Paul."
When it comes to Taylor’s other band, Stone Sour, plans are in place to release a double concept album called 'House Of Gold And Bones', with disc one released in October and disc two coming out in 2013.
"It's really a morality play," says Taylor of the upcoming album. "It's about a person trying to find himself, or herself. You know, everyone in their lives finds themselves inevitably at a crossroads when it comes to personal evolution and whatnot. Trying to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their lives."
In the meantime, Slipknot will be releasing a compilation album 'Antennas To Hell' on July 24. It includes the band's greatest hits along with a bonus live CD.
Meanwhile, Taylor's Slipknot bandmate Shawn 'Clown' Crahan is making stops at book stores to sign his recently released photography book, 'The Apocalyptic Nightmare Journey'.
