Guns n' Roses took the stage over an hour late at the O2 Arena in Dublin on Wednesday evening and were greeted by an angry crowd who pelted them with a hail of bottles and cans.
About 25 minutes into the set more the barrage of thrown objects continuing, Axl took the band offstage. Although they returned after a break of about 35 minutes, by this time most of the crowd had left.
Rose issued an ultimatum to impatient fans during Wednesday night's drama: "Here's the deal -- one more bottle and we go home. It's up to you."
"We would like to stay. We want to stay. We want to have some fun."
The crowd failed to heed the singer's warning and the group walked off.
All this comes days after he launched into a foul-mouthed tirade against police and promoters at the Leeds festival.
The band arrived 35 minutes late for its set at Leeds on Sunday night and the sound was cut at around 11:15pm local time.
An enraged Rose told the crowd: "We come here to play for you, but the cops and the promoters wanna fuck us in the ass. We would like to play a few more songs for you, but we'll just play one."
