POISON SINGER BRETT MICHAELS SUFFERS BRAIN HAEMORRHAGE
Poison singer Bret Michaels' publicist has said that is in hospital in a critical condition after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
The 47 year old US rock star was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital on Friday with a severe headache where he was found to have had a subarachnoid haemorrhage, or bleeding onto the surface of the brain.
His publicist added that he is conscious and talking with slurred speech.
"Bret is a fighter and we are hopeful that once all is complete, the slurred speech, blurred vision and dizziness etc will be eliminated and all functions will return to normal."
Michaels, who has diabetes and had his appendix removed in an emergency operation last week, can currently be seen on US TV on The Celebrity Apprentice.
He rose to fame in the 1980s as the lead singer of Poison who had hits including Every Rose Has Its Thorn and Unskinny Bop.
Michaels recently recorded a song with teen star Miley Cyrus.
Donald Trump's The Celebrity Apprentice was filmed several months ago but is halfway through its run on TV in the US - Michaels is one of the favourites to win.
"He's a great competitor and champion, and I hope he will be fine," Trump said.
