OZZY AND SHARON OSBOURNE TO LAND IN LIVERPOOL TO MARK JOHN LENNON'S 70th BIRTHDAY
Ozzy and Sharon Osbournes have been invited to Liverpool to commemorate former Beatle John Lennon's 70th birthday.
The Ozbourne's were invited to the city for October 9, the date which would have been the late musician's landmark birthday.
The former Black Sabbath frontman is a huge Beatles fan and received the invitation from Cllr Mike Storey who is Liverpool's Lord Mayor.
The planned visit was revealed on Merseyside DJ Pete Price's show on Radio City yesterday and Liverpool Echo columnist Pete, 64, said:
"I was doing a feature with [former Culture Company director] Kris Donaldson live from Australia when my phone rang and it was Sharon. I told Kris 'I have to take this call'.
"She was promoting her book Revenge but she had laryngitis so she was forced to cancel some of her interviews. I was flabbergasted to hear from her.
"She said she is coming to Liverpool and it is something to do with what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday.
"Ozzy is a huge John Lennon fan. I imagine he will want to see all the sights and maybe stay in the John Lennon suite at the Hard Days Night Hotel. Can you imagine everyone seeing Ozzy walking down Mathew Street – they would think he was a lookalike."
