Ha ha! I was so lucky to be able to get to the Pentrich Rock, Blues & Custom Bike show again this year 2017.

A few friends and clients were playing including Toby Jepson's Wayward Sons, Toseland, British Lion and FM and on the Saturday I got to see Graham Bonnet and met up with his rhythm section and had a great chat.

I managed to get some cool photos of drummer Mark Benquechea who I sent a selection of images to but for me the Highlight was Y&T.

I remembered shooting the band back in the mid 80s and being really impressed by their collection of great songs and Dave Meniketti's guitar playing and tone.

The attached B/W photo that was used in Sounds and Kerrang magazines and the one of Dave with his Les Paul guitar seemed like they were only taken yesterday.

I had thought I had shot Y&T at Knebworth but when I got back and checked my files it was actually Monsters of Rock, Castle Donington 1984.

Before the Y&T set I bumped into Mr Meniketti, looking fantastic after 33 years, and I had to ask him if he was still using the same Gibson Les Paul. He broke into a massive smile and laughed at me, saying: "Yes, of course!"

My comparison photos show the Les Paul looking even more nicely aged by Dave's playing style. Another case of me photographing planks of wood for the last 40 years, with various musicians holding them!
