||PREZENCE AT THE GLOBE: A ROCKING FRIDAY NIGHT OUT
It's unusual for us here at MetalTalk to do a gig review on a covers band but these boys are so good and put on such a fantastic show at my local the other night that I just had to write something!
Prezence are a five piece band fronted by Tamas Csemez and joined by the brilliant Gus Mark on lead guitar, not to mention the other members of the band who are equally excellent.
Heavily influenced by the music of Prezence's alter ego, the late great Ronnie James Dio, amongst others, Stargazer are probably the best Rainbow/Deep Purple tribute band I have seen.

I've been privileged to see both bands many times over the last 18 months or so, including in what is probably the most impressive setting at St Pauls Bay, Lindos, Rhodes, where finally this year the band joined the line up for Rhodes Rock (more on that in another article).
They never fail to deliver and Friday was no exception. With a slight alteration to their usual line up came a twist in the set list too.
Of course there was still plenty of Dio influenced numbers along with the usual smattering of David Coverdale creations, but unusually for Prezence these were coupled with some rocking Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath tunes (ah, still not escaping Dio then...)
The entire set had me rocking from the first to the last note, Tamas was as ever vocally brilliant, Rob cast his magic over the keys and Gus, well him and lead guitar are made for each other.
All in all a cracking band, a great night and if you like your classic rock, they are a must see.
