The Wörld Is Ours - Vol 2 - Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else

Continuing on from last year's 'The Wörld Is Ours - Vol 1' comes a very similar package cunningly named 'The Wörld Is Ours - Vol 2', which showcases the band's live performances over the last twelve months at Rock In Rio in Brazil, the Sonisphere Festival in England and a performance at Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany.

The main feature on this DVD is the band's triumphant headline performance from Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. Seventeen solid Motörhead tracks with newer numbers, from their 2010 'The World Is Yours' album like (the excellent) 'Get Back In Line' and 'I Know How To Die', mingling in with seasoned classics you know and love, like 'Bomber', 'Overkill' and 'The Chase Is Better Than the Catch'.

In the past, a majority of Motörhead DVDs have been released in black and white, much to the dismay of many of their fans, however, the good news for those who complained about it (and there are a lot of fans who did!) is that this DVD has been released in full colour.

Like the first volume, the DVD on this set was produced and directed by Sam Dunn (of Banger Films fame – responsible for the excellent 'Metal Evolution' series) and the sound is very much a top-notch affair too, having been recorded and mixed by the band's current producer Cameron Webb – a man who knows how Motörhead should sound.

Bonus material includes half a dozen tracks from the bands appearance at last year's Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth. This includes footage of Lemmy dedicating the bands entire set to ex-guitarist Wurzel who died of a heart attack the day before this performance was recorded – something I actually missed on the day as I was watching the end of Airbourne's explosive set at the other end of the festival site, and a further five tracks recoded in Brazil at the Rock In Rio festival.

Very much a stop-gap in the Motörhead catalogue until they bring out their new album, which is slated for a 2013 release date, this is an enjoyable set for those who are maybe unfamiliar with some of the band's back catalogue, but it may have seasoned fans wondering whether to buy it as it is overly similar material to the previous release.

At the end of the day, though, it's Motörhead live and raw, so you know you're getting - a good solid performance from a band very much at the top of their game.
