When I sat down with this album, I was excited to see what Marc Eden (Men And Gods) had created with another rock and roll project; The Peckham Cowboys formed about a year ago, and have already released their debut album 'Flog It!' Marc has joined forces with Guy Bailey (Quireboys), Dale Hodgkinson (And Also The Trees) aided and abetted by Alric Guyler, Simon Hanson and Ben Gibson. Together they have created a captivating, distorted, down trodden blues/rock record.

Immediately you are greeted by a distorted sound and swaggering guitars and tracks such as 'South London Thing', with a blues harmonica and Eden's dirty vocals, ooze charisma. 'Crackhouse Blues' has a very alluring bass line and guitar melody that draw you in, laced with a Southern drawl.
Marc has a very distinctive vocal that can pull off this top shelf brand of pissed up blues/rock and roll. 'Painkillers' is a particular favourite of mine, as there is something about the intro on piano and the rhythm of the song that demands my attention.
'Flog it!' is a stand out album with a distinctive character, based purely on the individuality and style in which The Peckham Cowboys have decided to record the album. It sweats rock and roll from the core with a sexy accent that you only hear after midnight in the corner of a dark club somewhere.
This album may sound like a distorted mess at times but it has a great blues sound harnessed by the band and made more current. This record has attitude and I like it!
Reminiscent of a drunk on their way home, sauntering down the street, this album as a sure fire swagger that I am sure will draw all eyes (and ears) to this fabulous beautiful mess.
