Rebels We Are. Fight We Will. We Are The United World Rebellion And We Are Back!

Having delighted their UK fans with a great tour and a headline show at Islington Academy earlier this year, Skid Row have released a new EP: 'United World Rebellion Chapter One' and announced another UK tour with Ugly Kid Joe in November.

'UWR Chapter One' is the first of three mini albums which will be released over the next year by Skid Row. Rachel Bolan explains why: "We wanted to do something different and the idea of offering three mini albums, released within the course of a year, appealed to me. Especially with the constantly changing musical climate I liked the idea of a steady flow of new music, as opposed to releasing a full-length album then riding it for the next two years. That makes it more exciting and our fans don't have to wait that long for new material."

The EP is in stores now and offers five brand new songs plus two bonus cover versions. There is also a special collector's box available which will fit the CDs for chapters two and three.

The five new tracks are well worth a listen and opener 'Kings Of Demolition' really fitted in well to the live set at the Islington show. It's an angry political number which shows off Johnny Solinger's vocal power. Track two, 'Let's Go', gets stuck in your head immediately. It has punk rock urgency and sounds just like you've heard it before. It would definitely work well live so hopefully they'll play this in November.

'This Is Killing Me' is the third track and it's a lighters in the air-style ballad with a gentle acoustic intro and impassioned vocals, creamy guitars and a cheesy chorus. It's a lovely tune. The last two tracks, 'Get Up' and 'Stitches', maintain the heavy tone of the album but in my opinion are overshadowed by the cover version of EZO's 'Fire Fire' which is a great doom-laden, heavy epic.

Judas Priest's 'United', is another pretty cool addition to the EP and sits well with the 'United World Rebellion' theme. It would be fun to hear this played live.

I'm looking forward to Chapter Two and seeing the band at the Electric Ballroom on 5th November!
