German Black Metal outfit NRVK return with their latest EP, 'Thghtlss Lght' and if you enjoy an old school chunk of 'Norwegian style second wave of Black Metal', you'll not be disappointed with this three track, twenty-five minute offering as it's all that and more.

Once again their lyrical material serves as a "channel to express their very own experiences with the black work and the Qliphotic tunnels" embedded in an icy traditional sound of disharmonic riffs and jangly tremolo riffing with atmospherically haunting closing passages and taking on a melodic feel in the slower segments.

But when the pace is up-tempo it is awash with swirling riffs that engulf and mesmerise you with their complex and impressively bizarre delivery, especially midway on EP closer 'Into The Patterns Of Ajna', all completed by an acidic growling vocal delivery that is both varied and well layered as well as clearly defined in content.

Overall an enjoyable and engaging slice of traditional style Black Metal that also has a fresh, challenging and unique edge to the sound because of the way it's constructed.

Tracklist:
1. Shattering The Vessels (8:22)
2. Womb Of Lilith (8:02)
3. Into The Patterns Of Ajna (9:02)

Thghtlss Lght' is out now as a Digipak, limited edition of 500 copies or 12" vinyl on Ván Records and distribution is via Soulfood.
