Status Quo have been on and off and on again all year with the Last Of The Electrics billed as the final time Quo would ever plug in, Rick Parfitt leaving the band due to health problems and then Francis Rossi admitting here on MetalTalk that the Quo may well plug in again some day.

Is the broken acoustic guitar a backlash against Aquostic?

That came to pass recently with the announcements firstly of more Quo electric gigs with ZZ Top and official confirmation that the Last Of The Electrics Tour would continue into 2017.

And then there were two because the Facebook page called ‘Status Quo “The Frantic Four” Reunion Tour’ which was created for the last reunion tour sprang into life earlier today with the above picture which was captioned: “The Future. Coming Soon.”

And now, in the last couple of hours, John Coghlan told Steve Blacknell on Nub TV: “There’s plans, I think, with Ricky Parfitt, me and Alan Lancaster going into recording probably next year if everything goes well and I just think we should do it because Francis doesn’t want to do it. Francis wants to do acoustics and we want to do electrics.”

Here’s the full interview.

Who replaces Francis Rossi in the ‘Frantic Four’, if anyone, is totally unknown at the moment but one name for the band that is being suggested, should they remain a three piece, is PLC.

Much more to follow, no doubt. We’ll bring you the latest as we have it.
